If you’re planning to visit Cairns Australia , there are some full on things to do for those thrill junkies out there.
The Tully River, which is approximately a two hour drive south of Cairns, is stated to be the best white water rafting river in Australia, and is significantly better after the monsoon season! Two local operators run tours, them being R&R Rafting and Raging Thunder. Oh, They operate trips from their base in Cairns to the Tully Gorge or, for the less adventurous, the Barron River. The Tully River offers rapids up to Grade 4, and the Barron River consists of rapids up to Grade three. Everyone understands, Both rivers function on what is known as ‘controlled release’, where the water is released from a containment area upstream. So, This allows for rafting all year round, even in the middle of the dry season.
Everyone I know who has done one of these tours has raved about it! So the Whitewater Rafting in Cairns is very good.
Obviously theres also the Great Barrier Reef, which is the premier tourist attraction in Australia and the envy of the rest of the planet. You know, You could learn to scuba dive with 1 of the many dive centres in the region or simply do a resort dive on any of the cruises to the great barrier reef. Personally, I would recommend the area around Cape Tribulation as the reef is a bit closer than anywhere else and is a bit less visited by lots of tourists.
